The inexpensive plastic and steel walled vinyl liner pools do not last as long as the more expensive pools built with durable materials such as concrete or fiberglass. The advantage of a fiberglass pool over a concrete pool are in cost savings. Concrete pools will typically need surface renovation within 12 to 15 years, and the cost of a renovation can be as much as 1/3 of the original cost of the pool. A fiberglass above ground pool can last for decades if it is taken care of properly.

You can get a cheap above ground pool for as little as $1,000. However, be ready to pay $25,000 and more for a great looking and durable fiberglass or concrete above ground plunge pool.
